Exclusive: Meghan Trainor Reveals Her Best Wedding Advice (Especially for Selecting Music)


A month into dating Daryl Sabara, singer Meghan Trainor was so smitten that she became an overflowing resource of new music, which she passionately recorded for her 2019 EP, The Love Train. “‘Marry Me’ was written on my one month anniversary of dating Daryl,” Trainor tells The Knot in an exclusive interview. “We were obnoxious and celebrated every month-iversary. I wrote the other songs through our first year anniversary of dating.”

So on December 22, when the couple married in a backyard, winter wonderland-themed wedding planned by Sacks Productions, Trainor’s love songs played an integral role in the entire day.

“I walked down the aisle to ‘Marry Me,’ which was an awesome moment to have as a songwriter. It was so hard holding my tears back… but I wanted good pictures!” she jokes. “Our first dance song was a cover of ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ by PJ Morton ft. Yebba Smith and we all loved singing along to it. By the end of the night, we were jamming to songs like ‘Foolish,’ ‘All The Ways’ and more from my upcoming third album. It was the best.”
