Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Threw a Massive 30th Wedding Anniversary Party

Hollywood was out and about this weekend to celebrate love. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson marked their 30th wedding anniversary with a mega party on Saturday, April 28, and they celebrated alongside Tinseltown’s finest.
The lovebirds, married since 1988, hosted the bash at their home in Pacific Palisades, California. They invited stars like Oprah Winfrey as well as former President Barack Obama. Late night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O’Brien also joined the festivities, and the two were spotted mingling by valet with Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell and Martin Short, according toE! News.
The couple first met while filming ABC television show Bosom Buddies in the early 1980s. They officially went public with their relationship in 1986, and the two married on May 1, 1988. “I will say that right from the get-go, I thought there was something crazy great about her,” Hanks previously told Phoebe Robinson on her podcast. “I met her and I thought ‘Oh, Lord. There’s something cooking here.’”
During that same interview, the Sleepless in Seattle star also addressed the longevity of his marriage, even within the context of Hollywood, which oftentimes sees marriages fizzle out due to hectic schedules and various demands.
“We learned the secret of happiness with each other a long time ago, and that’s always telling the truth,” Hanks expressed. “She makes me laugh harder now than she did in 1986.”
