Ace of Cakes’ Duff Goldman Is Engaged, and He Proposed With the Perfect Ring
Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman is officially off the market, and the Food Network star popped the question in a pretty perfect way: with a chef’s spontaneity and flourish.
“I woke up yesterday and it felt like any other day,” he captioned a post to Instagram Monday. “Sun was shining, birds [were] chirping. I made some coffee, ate a little breakfast, and got in the shower. I was shaving my head when like a mule kick to the heart I realized that I am absolutely in love with Johnna and I can’t imagine living another day without her in my life. She is kind, funny, smart, beautiful, cool, wise, and sexy. She’s a tempest of feeling.”

Goldman, 43, and retail manager Johnna Colbry have been dating since 2016, and the chef’s sudden revelation was followed almost immediately by action.
“I didn’t plan this out, it just happened and it was so glaringly obvious that I couldn’t have stopped it if I wanted to,” he continued. “I asked her to marry me. She said yes. I cannot imagine a state of happiness that is more intense than whatever I’m feeling right now. My heart just might burst. I love you muffin. I love every scar. I love the way you smell. I’m sorry I didn’t have a real ring. I hope you don’t mind butcher’s twine, I am a chef, after all.”
The accompanying photo shows Colbry’s hand with a piece of pale blue butcher’s twine delicately knotted around her ring finger. The retail manager shared the same image to her own Instagram account along with a sweet inside joke-laden caption.
“Officially my ride or die,” she wrote. “My forever muffin. My buffalo. I’m so crazy about you @duffgoldman and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life going on adventures with you!”
The photo is tagged as having taken place in Santa Monica, Calif., not too far away from Goldman’s Cakemix studio in Los Angeles, the west coast version of his Baltimore-based Charm City Cakes, which was the subject of the Ace of Cakes TV series that first launched him into celebrity chef stardom.
