Ed Sheeran Is Reportedly Building His Own Wedding Venue

This venue will be Perfect. Grammy winner Ed Sheeran is reportedly building his own venue for his upcoming wedding to Cherry Seaborn.

According to the BBC, the “Perfect” hitmaker submitted an application to his local District Council in Suffolk to have a chapel created for his private use. The planning application includes proposal details for a chapel comprised of flint, as well as a 48-foot-tall round tower that’s Saxon style.

The chapel itself would seat up to 24 guests and it would be “strictly non-denominational and for spiritual regeneration of both traditional and less traditional types.”

The reason for it, according to Sheeran’s proposal, is rather simple. Many of his guests supposedly have “high profiles” as well as a “need for discretion,” which is tough in the case the couple marries at a local and public church. (He is, after all, close friends with Taylor Swift and others.)

“The applicant seeks to provide both a religious and an ecumenical space in which he, his family and these different people (his guests) can retreat for contemplation or worship in peace and safety from disturbance,” it reads.

Sheeran announced his engagement to Seaborn in January. “Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” he wrote. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”

The “Shape of You” artist has since sported a man-gagement ring created by his future wife. “I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings,” he told British talk show Lorraine last month. “It’s the same commitment either way.”
